We delved into the gas crisis, its possible eect on the motorcycle
industry, and how only the rich could aord the $1/gallon of gasoline
to power their bike transporter to practice and the races on the
weekends... We tested the Honda XL-175 and said it is "a great bike for
the kid who wants to have transportation to high school and maybe
cut across the big vacant lot on his way home."... Pierre Karsmakers
won the Trans-AMA Motocross in Puyallup, Washington.

LOOKING BACK I
We showed our readers some of the latest (1984) and hottest
motorcycles from Yamaha, including the FJ1100, FJ600, RZ350, IT200
and YZ80. We also rode some of them.. We had coverage of the final
round of the WERA/ND National Championship Endurance Road
Race Series from Road Atlanta. Team Ontario took the win, and Team
Hammer won the title... Chuck Guy and Jerry Greer piloted their
specially built high mileage 185cc Honda from L.A. to New York (2929
miles) using just 14.98 gallons of gas.
