VOLUME ISSUE NOVEMBER , P BY RENNIE SCAYSBROOK PHOTOGRAPHY BY GOLD & GOOSE H e's been the talking point for plenty of reasons lately, not least of which has been his ex- plosion in form since being delivered the news that Marc Marquez was go- ing to take his job for 2023, but Fabio Di Giannantonio (Gresini Ducati) put everyone on notice that he deserves a spot on the grid for next year as he delivered a resounding victory, his first in the premier class, under the Qatari floodlights. Pecco Bagnaia (Ducati Lenovo Team) also left Qatar a happy man after taking second, somewhat luckily after coming within inches of running up the back of Di Giannantonio who had just taken the lead. Bagnaia was looking good for the race win until "Diggia" (Di Giannantonio) shot past, but his 20 points were far more than chief title rival and Sprint Race win- ner Jorge Martin earned. The Prima Pramac Ducati rider limped home to 10th and six points, dropping 21 points behind Bagnaia with one round and 37 points to play for remaining. Third in Qatar went to Moony VR46 Ducati's Luca Marini. In Moto2, Fermin Aldeguer (GT Trevisan SpeedUp) took another easy- looking win, this time over first-time podium man Manuel Gonzalez (Corre - os Prepago Yamaha VR46 Team) and Aron Canet (Pons Wegow Los40). While in Moto3, a new king was crowned as Jaume Masia (Leopard Racing) took the win and the title, fin - ishing 0.068 seconds ahead of David Alonso (GasGas Aspar Team) and Deniz Oncu (Red Bull KTM Ajo). You only win your first MotoGP race once. Fabio Di Giannantonio lets the emotions pour out after taking the Qatar victory. DOHA DOHA Diggia
