Ice Race Grand Championship Is Back
A
fter last year's cancelation,
the AMA announced that the
AMA Ice Race Grand Champi-
onship GP and Oval events are
set to make a return in 2024,
with the GP set for January 21
and the Oval for February 10 at
Lake Winnebago in Fond Du Lac,
Wisconsin.
"We have eagerly awaited
the return of the AMA Ice Race
Grand Championship after the
weather failed to cooperate with
us last winter," AMA Track Rac
-
ing Manager Ken Saillant said.
"This event was sorely missed
from our schedule last year, and
we hope the weather holds up
so we can crown new ice racing
national champions in 2024."

he 2024 AMA Hillclimb Grand
Championship is set to run
August 2-4 in Red Wing, Min-
nesota, setting the stage for the
nation's best amateur hillclimb
competitors to battle for AMA
National number-one plates.
"We anticipate another highly
competitive AMA Hillclimb Grand
Championship in 2024," said
AMA Track Racing Manager Ken
Saillant. "Each year, the most
accomplished amateurs in the
sport compete in the event, and
we look forward to seeing who
emerges victorious next year."
Not only will racers compete
for AMA National number-one
plates, but several special
awards will also be on the line
during the three-day event. The
AMA Hillclimb Racer of the Year,
AMA Vet/Senior Hillclimb Racer
of the Year, AMA ATV Hillclimb
Racer of the Year and AMA
Youth Hillclimb Racer of the Year
will all be awarded during the
competition.
In addition to the special AMA
awards, the fastest competitor
in a run-off race will be crowned
King of the Hill. Riders with
the 10 fastest times during the
weekend will compete for the
title in a one-run class at the end
of the event on August 4.
