I don't care if it's dusty or raining and mud, but stones are where I struggle the most normally, so this is why I'm happy because I impressed myself riding this type of terrain because it was difficult to push the limits, especially on a 250. It was not an easy week; mentally, it was stressful because we were in every test on the limit." Even with a few hiccups like Girroir getting a head cold early on and Martinez slowing with a mushroomed wheel spacer which refused to let him remove the rear axle in order to change the tire one day, the rest of the team kept the pace up consis - tently within the top 10. They could back down a notch for most of the week in order to avoid unnecessary chances— a rare luxury—en route to an almost expected triumph.
