this type of terrain because it was
so stoney and dry [river beds].
I like when it's dirt. I don't care
if it's dusty or raining and mud,
but stones are where I struggle
the most normally, so this is why
I'm happy because I impressed
myself riding this type of terrain
because it was difficult to push
the limits, especially on a 250. It
was not an easy week; mentally, it
was stressful because we were in
every test on the limit."
JUNIOR WORLD
TROPHY
Though Mateo Oliveira was on last
year's JWT team, Kai Aiello was a
Club rider last year and Argentina
was Grant Davis' first Six Days.
"Heading into the race, we
expected top three realistically with
most dedicated, [cohesive] team
[I've been around]. Everybody was
super-selfless this year, like not
trying to be secretive or anything.
"It was an amazing experi

"I
couldn't have asked for any-

racing; it can happen to everyone
so next year we'll come back and
have [the home field advantage]
so it will be incredible.
"To be honest, when I was
walking the tests, I don't like
digits by the end of day four when
France and Great Britain switched
places where they'd remain.
Even with a few hiccups like
Girroir getting a head cold early
on and Martinez slowing with
a mushroomed wheel spacer
which refused to let him remove
the rear axle in order to change
the tire one day, the rest of the
team kept the pace up consis

tently within the top 10. They
could
back down a notch for
most of the week in order to
avoid unnecessary chances—
a rare luxury—en route to an
almost expected triumph.
"We came here with a goal
in mind—to get that third win—
and we did exactly that, Robert
declared. "I think we dominated
every day [as a team]. The team
was incredible. Honestly, it's the
