Baylor Wins JNCC Finale S teward Baylor traveled to Ja- pan to race in the final round of the Japanese National Cross- Country (JNCC) Championship. The series finale took place at X-JAM Takai Fuji Park near the Yomase Onsen Ski Resort in Kitashiga, Japan. The course featured rough and rocky terrain, like what com - petitors face at certain rounds of the GNCC series. After 12 laps and almost three hours of rac - ing, Baylor took the victory with a five-minute gap between him- self and second place. Manabu Watanabe still claimed the 2023 JNCC Championship as he crossed the line fourth overall on the day. Japanese racers Daiki Baba and Ryota Suzuki recently trav - eled to South Carolina to race the Big Buck GNCC in the XC1 Open Pro class, where they finished 11th and 12th, respec - tively. Legendary Motorsports Sports Broadcaster Passes L egendary motorsports sports broadcaster and commentator Art Eckman passed away on Saturday, November 4. He was 81. Eckman was the unmistakable voice of two- wheel motorsports for several years, especially in Supercross and pro motocross. He was also the host and producer of the weekly Moto World show pit announcer for AMA Road Racing and CART Indy Cars. Eckman is survived by his wife of 46 years, Donna Haines Eckman, as well as two daughters, Christine Eckman and Kara Eckman Mecke, along with Kara's husband Ralph Mecke and their two children, Alastair and Cedric. A Celebration of Life service was held on Friday, November 10, 2023, at Peachtree Road United Methodist Church in Atlanta, Georgia. You can read more about Art Eckman and his career by clicking here.
