T
he 2024 model year will
see Triumph debut two
reworked Scrambler
1200s. Gone is the 1200 XC,
replaced by the newly devised
1200 X model, itself a lower
priced/lower spec machine
compared to the premium XE.
Both bikes are powered by
the 1200 parallel-twin with
its single overhead camshaft
and 270-degree crankshaft.
Triumph claims 89 horsepow
-
er at 7000 rpm and a peak
torque of 81 lb-ft at 4250 rpm.
It uses a new single 50mm
throttle body and revised
exhaust headers.
Both machines run a ride-
by-wire throttle with Sport,
Road, Rain, Off-Road and
Rider Configurable modes.
The XE also gets an additional
Off-Road Pro mode.
They are fitted with Marzoc-
chi, instead of Ohlins, suspen-
sion components. The 1200
X gets a road-biased 45mm
inverted fork and preload-
adjustable twin rear shocks
for 6.7 inches of ground clear
-
ance at both ends. The 1200
XE gets 9.8 inches of travel
via fully adjustable units.
The XE uses twin Brembo
Stylema radial monoblock
four-piston front calipers with
320mm floating discs. The X
uses lower-spec four-piston
calipers with 310mm discs.
Both models use single-piston
rear calipers with 255mm discs.
The Scrambler 1200 X will
start from $13,595 USD and
$14,795 CAD. The Scram
-
bler 1200 XE will start from
$15,295 USD and $16,595
CAD. Orders can be placed
now at Triumph dealers, with
bikes arriving for retail from
February 2024.
