Simpson came into Mesquite
with a 27-point lead over RPM
FMF KTM's Jake Alvarez, and
the two riders started 1-2 in the
race, with 3 Bros. Husqvarna Kai
Aiello in the fight as well.
Simpson and Alvarez put on
quite the show as they fought
for the win. Unfortunately for Al
-
varez, a big crash eventually put
him out of the race and Simpson
rode away for his third win of the
year. It was also enough for him
to clinch the class champion-
ship, with Alvarez carding a DNF.
Meanwhile, 3 Bros. Racing
Colton Aeck moved up through
the pack and got into second
place, finishing on the podium
for the third race in a row. After
taking an almost three-year hia
-
tus, Wyatt Mattson returned and
got on the box in third place.
SLR Honda rider Jace Allred
topped the ProAm field. He and
another new rider to the WORCS
Championship, Jack Glathar,
went 1-2. Mason Decunzo
pushed hard to keep up with
the two riders ahead of him but
