Oliveira Wins Washougal Hare Scrambles

ber 7-8, hosted by the Mt. Scott
Motorcycle Club. Serving as the
sixth round of the AMA West
Hare Scrambles (WHS) Regional
Championship Series, Presented
by MojoMotoSport, it saw FMF
KTM Factory Off-road Racing
Team's Dante Oliveira add anoth

er five points to his series lead
by besting 2022 series champ
Giacomo Redondi. LiquiMoly
Beta's Zane Roberts rounded out
the overall podium for the third
time this season.
Unofficially, though, Pro 250
winner Jaden Dahners set the
third-fastest overall race time,
11 seconds faster than Roberts
after almost three hours of rac

ing and coming from the second
row, where Pro 250s start.
For the first time this sea-
son—and maybe ever—Roberts
found himself leading as he
exited the first turn on his FMF/
Pirelli/Klim-backed 480 RR, a
shoulder ahead of Rockstar En-
ergy Husqvarna's Austin Walton
aboard his Dunlop/Motorex/Fly
Racing FX 450. "That was prob

ably the fastest my bike's ever
started, so I got off to a good
start there," Roberts said. He sur
-
rendered the lead momentarily to
Walton but got it back soon after
in one of the long grass track
sections. He added, "I feel like
[my riding today] was a step in
the right direction, getting better
in the woods."
Uncharacteristically, Oliveira
and his Red Bull/Motorex/Thor
450 XC-F were farther back with
3 Bros./Hatch Racing GasGas
rider Redondi tucked in behind
him—but not for long. Less than
halfway through the remark

ably diverse but slick nine-mile
course, the current points leader
made his way to the front with
Redondi in tow aboard his FMF/
WIND
IN THE
P44
Dante Oliveira kept defending
series champ Giacomo
Redondi at bay to claim the
win.
