VOLUME ISSUE OCTOBER , P71 DOMINATES ON HOME SOIL BY RYAN NITZEN PHOTOGRAPHY BY ALEX KELLY M ore than 100,000 fans over the October 6-8 weekend packed the Moto Club d'Ernee to watch the 76th running of the Motocross of Nations, where the home team dominated from start to finish, leaving no doubt who had the best team of 2023. By the third and final moto, the French squad, made up of Romain Febvre, Tom Vialle and Maxime Renaux, essentially just had to show up to the start line, and the Chamberlain Trophy was theirs for the first time in five years. The French trio accumulated a low winning score of just 14 points, which was 20 points clear of the next-best team, Australia, at 34. The Aussies finished nine points clear of third-place finishers Italy. Germany was a close fourth, and Belgium rounded out the top five. As for the defending champs, Team USA endured crashes and bad starts and, at times, found it difficult to keep pace with the top GP regulars. The U.S. trio, made up of Christian Craig, Aaron Plessinger and RJ Hampshire, finished out the day a disappointing eighth overall. COOKING
