handed down by the stewards
for his opening-lap error. He
would climb back up to 10th.
Race two was simply a belter
between the top two racing
beasts of 2023, Razgatlioglu
and Bautista.
Razgatlioglu simply refused
to give up every time Bautista
came past him, harrying in each
corner and using every trick
to pass inside, lead and slow
down his rival. But, once again,
Razgatlioglu did everything right,
and yet the small red-guided
missile flew past him again,
beating him by 0.126 as it ac
-
celerated away to glory.
In the Superpose race and
race two, Razgatlioglu punched
his bike in anger over the line—
very unlike him.
Bautista was only two points
from being champion at Porti
-
mao, although the coronation
should come early in the final
round.
In WorldSSP, Nicolo Bulega
(Aruba Racing Ducati) won
his first championship in the
best way possible—by win
-
ning a race. He led his last
arithmetically possible chal-
lenger Stefano Manzi (Ten Kate
Yamaha) over the line by two
seconds, and in doing so, won
the riders title for himself, and
took Ducati's first riders' title
in WorldSSP and Ducati's first
WorldSSP Manufacturers' title
of all time.
