ROUND 9, SEPTEMBER 22-24, 2023
NEW JERSEY MOTORSPORTS PARK / MILLVILLE, NEW JERSEY
ROAD RACE I FIM NORTH AMERICAN ROAD RACE CHAMPIONSHIP
P98
23 COREY ALEXANDER
3-3 SUPERBIKE
"It was surreal during the race,"
Alexander said after race two. "For
me, yesterday was obviously huge.
It was amazing to get a podium, but
just having PJ's (Jacobsen) penalty
and whatnot is not exactly how I'd
want it to go down, if I could dream
up a podium. So, to be able to do it
again and have him up here with me
is amazing for our team and just for
me confidence-wise to know that I
actually went out and earned this one.
Super excited."
33 KYLE WYMAN
DNF-1 KOTB
"Hayden and James just refused to
have a bad day this year," Wyman
said. "It seemed like every time they
had issues, it was in a challenge or
practice or whatever. It's really tough
to win a championship against guys
that are that solid. Pretty cool story
with Hayden these last few weeks.
He's a good guy. He deserves all
that's coming to him, and the champi-
onship included."
MYOWNRACE
Josh Herrin (Warhorse HSBK Racing Ducati),
sporting a striking purple and white color
scheme for the weekend to celebrate the team's
sponsor, Mount Airy Resort and Casino, took a
distant fifth, nearly one minute behind Gagne.
Race two was a little more interesting as the
track dried in certain places, making tire choice
crucial. Herrin and Mathew Scholtz were some
of the top names who gambled by fitting slicks,
but it was a bet that wouldn't pay as both ran off
track and crashed in the early stages—fortunate
-
ly both without injury.
