young rookie in race two and
forced him to settle for third.
While more consistent than last
week, Deegan now drops to third
in the overall SMX rankings.
"Where I'm at is kind of right
on the bubble," Deegan said. "The
only thing I can do to win this
thing is to win. So that's what I'm
going there to do, just try and win."
RJ Hampshire and Max Vohland
improved as the night wore on and
rounded out the top five overall in
the 250SMX.
CN
450SMX Overall
1. Jett Lawrence (Hon) 1-2
2. Ken Roczen (Suz) 3-1
3. Chase Sexton (Hon) 2-3
4. Aaron Plessinger (KTM) 5-4
on the night puts him second in
the SMX points.
"We know the issues now, but
it's nobody's fault," Shimoda said
about the second moto. "I did have
to slow down, which was a bum-
mer. Whoever takes the overall
next weekend takes the whole
thing, and I
knew it would be like
this."
Deegan came in hot again for
the first race of the night. The co-
points leader grabbed a big hole-
shot and led for the first half of the
race
but a mistake before the big
finish-line jump allowed Lawrence
to slip by. His rival, Shomoda, also
passed late in the race. Shimoda
and Lawrence got away from the
Haiden Deegan led early in race one.
