T he WR450F enduro now shares the latest platform with its YZ450F MX cous- in. The 2024 Yamaha WR450F is said to be faster, lighter and slimmer than the previous model. Yamaha says it's also "more tractable than before with longer, stronger pulling power." The 2024 WR450F is essen - tially an all-new motorcycle. The motor comes straight from the recently updated YZ450F, which is two pounds lighter than before, and the ECU has been retuned for off-roading. Its aluminum bilateral beam frame is new, as are the fuel tank and muffler, all in the name of improving CG. The suspension gets sev - eral revisions, including new tool-free damping adjustments on top of the fork legs. It has slightly less wheel travel than the YZ450F but 10mm less seat height. Yamaha slimmed things up by reducing the width between the radiator shrouds and fitting the bike with a narrower and flatter seat. Other updates include a new multi-function switchgear, full protection skid plate, rear fender with a grab area and updated clutch and transmission. The 2024 WR450F will hit showroom floors in November for $8999 MSRP. The 2024 WR250F returns but is unchanged. CN VOLUME ISSUE SEPTEMBER , P67 2024 Yamaha WR450F
