third Vision Wheel M4 Ecstar Suzuki ridden by little known Spanish-based Canadian Torin Collins, who showed exceptional speed and adap- tation to the GSX-R750 after racing in the FIM JuniorGP World Championship in Spain on Moto3 equipment this year. Collins finished just 14 seconds off Fores' winning time despite having never vis- ited the venue prior, holding off David Anthony (Wrench Motorcycles Suzuki), and Jake Lewis (Disrupt Racing Suzuki) at the flag. A visibly disappointed Scott vowed to make amends for his second-place finish in race one, which he duly did by taking a 0.7-second win over season rival Fores, with Collins improving ever more to finish on the po - dium in his MotoAmerica debut. The race was red flagged following a massive high-side crash from Teagg Hobbs' at the STEEL COMMANDER STOCK 1000 CHAMPIONSHIP Orange Cat Racing BMW's Ezra Beaubier led the champion- ship by eight points heading into the final round of the 2023 Steel Commander Stock 1000 Championship, but if he dared to dream about earning a first Mo - toAmerica/AMA title, he would emerge bitterly disappointed after being ruled out of the week - end with a stomach virus before the first race, thus curtailing any championship hopes. That gave Hayden Gillim the match point he needed, and the Kentuckian did what was required by landing his Disrupt Racing Suzuki GSX-R1000 on pole position and pushing on to two dominant wins over Travis Wyman (Travis Wyman Racing BMW) and Beaubier's teammate Kaleb De Keyrel, the latter having to fight through the pack in both races to seal the third spot on each of the two podiums. ROUND 8, SEPTEMBER 8-10, 2023 CIRCUIT OF THE AMERICAS / TRAVIS COUNTY, TEXAS ROAD RACE I FIM NORTH AMERICAN ROAD RACE CHAMPIONSHIP P90 Nicky Hayden Corner, with the restart held over six laps. Anthony finished fourth, one place up on Josh Hayes (Squid Hunter Racing Yamaha) in fifth. In the series, Fores is the cham - pion with 357 points, 86 up on Scott's 271. Hayes is third at 220. Gillim made amends for the disappointment of 2022 with the Stock 1000 title. Hayden Gillim leads the King Of The Baggers freight train. He's now leading the title by two points heading into the final round.
