A
fter 17 rounds of Supercross
and 11 rounds of Pro Moto-
cross, the sport's best riders
now culminate for the inaugural
SuperMotocross playoffs. Round
one kicked off the new post-season
championship with a hybrid-style
track built on the zMAX Dragway drag
strips in Charlotte, North Carolina.
Chase Sexton (Honda HRC) put the
skids to Jett Lawrence's winning
streak by topping the 450SMX class,
and Jo Shimoda (Monster Energy/Pro
Circuit Kawasaki) pulled out all the
stops in winning the 250SMX class to
start the first of three playoff rounds.
Chase Sexton (23) came out on top
at the inaugural SuperMotocross
World Championship.
