2024 KTM 890 Adventure R Rally
K
TM's latest adventure
weapon is the $21,499
2024 KTM 890 Adventure
R Rally. It will be limited to 700
units worldwide and will be avail-
able for preorder at KTM.com
from September 20.
The R Rally uses the 890 Ad
-
venture R as its base but ramps
things up with plenty of Power-
Parts accessories. Chief among
these mods is the WP Xplor Pro
7548 fork with its Cone Valve
technology and the WP Xplor
Pro 6746 shock offering 10.6
inches of wheel travel front and
rear. That's 1.2 inches more than
the base model Adventure R.
New items include a race-
specific Rally seat, rally foot
-
pegs, heavy-duty 2.15 x 21
and 4.0 x 18 Excel wheels, and
there's greater engine pro-
tection, including a new rear
master-cylinder guard. There is
also a new carbon tank guard.
The 890cc parallel twin is the
same, but the Rally R has a new
Akrapovic slip-on muffler that
is 35 percent lighter. There is
a new Supersprox-Stealth rear
sprocket, although the gearing
is unchanged.
A five-inch TFT dash houses
turn-by-turn navigation and all
the usual riding modes: power,
ABS, traction control, wheelie
control, etc. Everything that's
on the Adventure R is present
on the Rally.
KTM is also giving 34 of the
700 Rally buyers the chance to
join the KTM Ultimate Desert
Experience, a four-day epic
across Morocco with access
to a fully prepped 890 Adven
-
ture R Rally. Also included, are
accommodation, meals, and a
ride guide for $5400.
