A
prilia's new RS 457 takes di-
rect aim at the Kawasaki Ninja
400. The 457 boasts a new
47-horsepower parallel-twin, DOHC,
four-stroke motor and an all-new
aluminum chassis. The 457 builds
on the success of the RS 660, which
has become Europe's highest-selling
sport bike since its 2020 release.
Weighing a claimed 350 pounds
dry, the RS should be more than a
match for class stalwarts Kawasaki
and the Ninja 400, which has domi
-
nated the segment and holds nearly
all the places on the MotoAmerica
Junior Cup grid.
Details are sketchy in terms of
price and availability, but what we
do know is it'll have a five-inch TFT
display, preload-only adjustable
41mm fork and monoshock, ByBre
four-piston brakes, ABS, ride-by-wire
throttle with three riding modes, and
a 110/70 front tire and a 150/60 rear
tire. An optional quickshifter is avail
-
able for the six-speed gearbox.
