lap.
Jose Antonio Rueda (Red
Bull KTM Ajo) picked up his first
Grand Prix podium in third after
a final corner clash ahead saw
Deniz Oncu (Red Bull KTM Ajo)
make contact with David Munoz
(BOE Motorsports), earning the
Turkish rider a penalty by drop
-
ping him from third to 12th.
Ayumu Sasaki's (Liqui Moly
Husqvarna Intact GP) podium
run came to an end as he took
fourth but given Holgado's
way past at turn 10, holding the
advantage to the end to win
by 0.205 seconds. It was yet
another second place for Canet
as he chases that elusive Moto2
win with Arenas taking third.
Championship contender
Tony Arbolino (ELF Marc VDS
Racing Team) had a shocker of
a weekend, trudging home in
17th for no points and taking
a body blow to his world title
hopes.
In the series, Acosta leads
by 22 points after entering the
Catalunya round with a 12-point
advantage. Dixon is third, 44
points adrift of Acosta.
Moto3
Moto3 delivered a wild race in
Barcelona. David Alonso (Gavi-
ota GasGas Aspar Team) took
(Pons Wegow Los40), Manuel
Gonzalez (Correos Prepago
Yamaha VR46 Team), Pedro
Acosta (Red Bull KTM Ajo) Ai
Ogura (Idemitsu Honda Team
Asia) Alonzo Lopez (CAG Speed
Up) and Sam Lowes (ELF Marc
VDS Racing Team) all finished
in that order and separated by
just 4.6 seconds at the flag in
the closest Moto2 race of the
season.
Dixon and Canet, however,
were the main protagonists, the
Briton and Spaniard pulling clear
of Arenas with a few laps to go
and staging their own battle
to the flag once Acosta was
passed and dropped with five
laps to go.
By this point, Canet held
the advantage over Dixon and
Arenas, but Dixon forced his
