Big Bike Weekend Concludes 2023 Mammoth Motocross T he annual Mammoth Mo- tocross wrapped up with the "Big Bike Weekend," August 31-September 3. Mini Week took place August 29-30, but the full-sized machines closed out nearly two weeks of activities. Big winners on the big bikes included Lux Turner in 250cc Pro, Robbie Wageman in 450cc Pro, and Justin Hoeft in Open Pro Sport. Turner kicked things off in the Pro classes with the opening-moto win in the 250s. The GasGas-mounted rider held fourth during the opening laps but managed to make his way to the lead with two laps to go. Luke Kalaitzian led the first eight of the 10-lap moto before Turner got around him. Kalaitzian held on for second with Noah Viney placing a strong third. Parker Ross rebounded in the second 250cc Pro moto. He started fourth, worked his way up and battled Turner for the lead by the halfway point. The two swapped positions with Ross getting the upper hand. Turner's 1-2 gave him the overall ahead of Ross's 7-1 and Slade Varola's 4-4. Honda rider Noah Viney was fourth and Yamaha rider Brad West fifth. The 450cc Pro race featured a supercross format with heat races, semis, and a final main event. Yamaha-mounted Rob - bie Wageman started near the front of the pack in the main and took over the lead by lap two. He never looked back from that point on and won the race by 13 seconds over Honda rider Trevor Stewart.
