VOLUME ISSUE SEPTEMBER , P65 BY RENNIE SCAYSBROOK PHOTOGRAPHY BY GOLD & GOOSE A leix Espargaro (Aprilia Racing Team) led a dream 1-2 ahead of teammate Maverick Vinales in the Gran Primi Monster Energy de Catalu - nya in Barcelona, adding to the Sprint Race win he sealed on Saturday. The man known as The Captain within his Aprilia team is riding on a level capable of consistently challenging Fran - cesco Bagnaia (Lenovo Ducati), who took second on Saturday after sealing pole position, but launched himself into orbit with a gigantic high-side at turn two on lap one, the hapless Brad Binder (Red Bull KTM) having nowhere to go but to run over the world champion's legs. Bagnaia was taken to hospi - tal and released without major injury but is in doubt for the Misano round this weekend. In Moto2, Jake Dixon (As- terius GasGas Aspar Team) roared back into title contention with a close-fought win over the perennial second-placed man, Aron Canet (Pons Wegrow Los40) and Albert Arenas (Red Bull KTM Ajo). In Moto3, David Alonso (Gas - Gas Aspar Team) won a nail- biter that was only decided at the last corner ahead of Jaume Masia (Leopard Racing) and Jose Antonio Rueda (Red Bull KTM Ajo). Finally, in MotoE, Andrea Mantovani (RNF MotoE Team) and Mattia Casadei (HP Pons Los40) shared the wins. CATALUNYA CARNAGE Aleix Espargaro took a dream double home win as many of his competitors went flying all around him
