ROUND 11 / AUGUST 26, 2023 IRONMAN RACEWAY / CRAWFORDSVILLE, INDIANA MOTOCROSS I PRO MOTOCROSS CHAMPIONSHIP / SUPERMOTOCROSS WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP P56 450MX The series finale of the Jett Law- rence show certainly did not disap- point. Two suspenseful motos saw him and Honda teammate, Chase Sexton, go toe-to-toe for nearly the full duration of the 30-minute- plus-two-lap motos. Lawrence did what he does—get out front, set the pace, drop the hammer, then respond accordingly. In moto one, Lawrence's midrace burner laps were enough to gap Sexton and win by over five seconds. Moto two was for all the marbles, and Lawrence knew it. Despite a nervous flinch off the start gate, he still found the lead by turn three with Sexton right in tow. The Honda duo were never more than a few seconds apart for the entire race, throw - 14 DYLAN FERRANDIS 11TH (3-DNF) 450MX Dylan Ferrandis started the day on the podium but ended with a DNF. He still finished second in the champion- ship. "We gave everything we had, and I felt good on the bike, which is most important," Ferrandis said. "In the first moto, I was struggling a bit, physically, but a bad start didn't help. I had to pass many good riders and come back through the field, so third was the best I could do in that moto. In the second one, we got a great start but had a big crash and unfortu- nately didn't finish. I'm pretty sore, but fortunately, I'm okay." 32 JUSTIN COOPER 4TH (13-2) 250MX It was a tough day for Justin Coo- per as a first-turn crash derailed his championship hopes. "We had a chance at the championship, and we were looking to at least push it to Moto 2, but I got collected in a turn-two pile-up. That was pretty unfortunate. It sent me right to the back from the start. I tried to work my way up as far as I could, but we were stuck back there. It was pretty hard to get through all those guys. From MYOWNRACE
