which put Anderson fifth, just
behind the Plessinger/Barcia
battle. With relatively consistent
2-5 scores, Anderson ended up
on the podium for the first time
since Washougal.
"Today was obviously better,"
Anderson said. "I think I started
in eighth to 10th both motos
and was able to work my way
into second for the first one. But

HONDA'S PERFECT YEAR
If Hunter Lawrence can clinch the
250MX title next weekend, it will give
Honda a perfect sweep of every U.S.
MX/SX Championship. This year,
Honda has won both 250SX East and
West titles, the 450SX title, and the
450MX title. There's one more left
with the SuperMotocross year-long
title on the line.
TEAM USA
There is still no official word from
the AMA regarding this year's U.S.
Motocross of Nations Team. There
are riders switching teams at the
end of the racing season, so it's not
likely we'll see Chase Sexton riding
or the injured Cooper Webb, who is
also changing brands. The injured Eli
Tomac is out, too. Aaron Plessinger,
Justin Barcia and Haiden Deegan are
obvious candidates.
HAMPSHIRE OUT
Rockstar Energy Husqvarna's RJ
Hampshire did not suit up. The
team announced earlier in the
week that he is still recuperating
from his crash from the previous
week at Unadilla. His status is still
up in the air regarding the Ironman
National final.
Briefly...
Justin Barcia. Another overall
podium for Plessinger sees
him comfortably in third in the
series standings.
"That first moto, I just got
stiff around the 15- to 20-min
-
ute mark and went backward,"
Plessinger said. "I know I can
run good laps with these guys,
and I obviously rode well in that
second one. It was honestly
some of the best last laps of
a moto that I've ever done just
because I wanted it."
Monster Energy Kawasaki's
Jason Anderson finished out
the day in third overall. He
worked hard in moto one, as he
passed all the way to second
place and notched his season-
best result. The pace was high
again in the second moto,
