Cooper said. "I just didn't flow
and was kind of fighting the
bike. We just went back to what
we knew, and it felt really good
even on the sight lap. I was
pumped to get up front and just
start hammering."
Shimoda finished on the box
in both motos but not on the
overall podium. With the flip-
flopped results of the second
moto, Shimoda's 3-3 only gave
him fourth overall.
Maximus Vohland ran up front
for a time in moto one and net
-
ted a 4-6 for a top five overall in
the points
standings.

the misfortune of his Yamaha
teammate Deegan.
With two rounds left, Cooper
is still in the hunt. He's 22 back
from Lawrence and 13 up on Jo
Shimoda.
"We tried something new for
that first moto but ended up go
-
ing back [to the original setup],"
lizer he was using likely affected
his
results on the ultra-rutted
track. Cooper removed the sta-
bilizer for the second moto and
rebounded
with a big win, his
third race victory of the summer.
A 5-1 bumped Cooper to third
on the podium and second in
the championship points due to
Haiden Deegan suffered a
heartbreaking mechanical DNF
in moto one, which seriously
damages his chance of winning
the 250MX title.
