every lap of the race to take his second moto win of the year. Moto two wasn't as easy for the Star Racing Yamaha rider as he jostled for positions in the race and the overall. He climbed as high as fourth and used 1-4 scores to take second. He's now fifth overall in the series. "Getting that holeshot was big for me," Kitchen said. "I just got up front and tried to hold that pace. I'm stoked with how the day went. Another good start in the second moto and second overall on the day. Justin Cooper finished the day strong to take third overall. He started up front in moto one, but a prototype steering stabi - "It's good, I'm happy to come away with the win," Lawrence said. "I knew he [Jo Shimoda] was like three seconds back, and, the corner before the me- chanic's lane, I made a mistake and got squirrelly. I knew I had to execute a good lap, and obvi- ously Justin [Cooper] was out front." Levi Kitchen claimed second on the day. If Kitchen can get a good start, he can win, and that's precisely what happened in the first 250MX moto. He quickly jumped out front and led they moved their way through the ranks. Late in the race, it looked like Lawrence and Deegan would settle for sec - ond and third, respectively, but Deegan's motor had different plans as it let go with just two laps to go. A 38th-place finish dropped him out of a points- paying position, while Lawrence went on to take second. Lawrence then backed it up with another second-place result in moto two, proving to be the most consistent 250MX rid - er of the day. A pair of seconds earned him the day's overall vic- tory and maximized the points bonus. He's now 22 points up on second place.
