Triumph Extends Partnership
With Moto2 to 2029
T
riumph and Dorna have
reached an agreement that
will see the British manufacturer
remain the control engine sup-
plier for the Moto2 category until
2029.
Triumph became the Moto2
engine supplier in 2019 with
its Street Triple 765 RS motor,
replacing Honda and the four-
cylinder CBR600RR powerplant.
While still a production-based
motor, Triumph will be work
-
ing on the gearbox to allow a
smoother gearshift in racing
competition.
"Moto2 continues to be an
excellent platform to showcase
the performance and capability
of our 765 triple engines, driving
demand for our new Street Triple
765 range," said Triumph Mo
-
torcycles Chief Product Officer,
Steve Sargent. "Over the last five
years, we've used the race-en-
gine program to drive enhance-
ments to the 765 engine, and
gain insights and learnings that
we've used to further develop
and evolve our Street Triple 765
range. Our reputation for bul
-
letproof durability, reliability, and
class-leading performance has
grown, which in turn, drives our
global sales.
"The new race gearbox will
make a big difference to the re-
sults that riders can achieve on
track in Moto2, and in advance
of this, our engineering team is
already testing and developing
improvements in gear selection,
testing parts after use in this
year's Moto2 rounds."
