VOLUME ISSUE AUGUST , P33 Amateurs To Compete at SuperMotocross World Championship Finals T he SuperMotocross League announced that amateurs will be featured in the upcoming three-race SuperMotocross World Champion- ship Finals. There will be three classes, with one class competing at each round. The 65 World All-Stars class (ages 7-11) will compete at zMax Dragway at Charlotte Motor Speedway in Concord, North Carolina, on Satur- day, September 9. The Supermini World All-Stars (ages 12-16) will compete at Chicagoland Speed- way in Joliet, Illinois, on Saturday, September 16, and the 250 World All-Stars (ages 14+) will com- pete at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum in Los Angeles on Saturday, September 23. Each class will consist of 22 riders who will be selected from around the world by each of the par- ticipating OEMs in the SMX World Championship. Amateur competitors in all three classes will have two free practice sessions on Friday. Then, Saturday's schedule will include two 10-minute qualifying sessions for gate picks, followed by an eight-minute-plus-one-lap main event that will take place in the afternoon (Charlotte) or the evening program (Chicago and Los Angeles). The dates and locations of the last two rounds have yet to be announced. Those who have followed the series in the past will recognize all eight venues announced so far. CN The NGPC series announced its 2024 schedule. Dates and location of two rounds are still pending. Amateur racing will be included in the SuperMotocross World Championship finals.
