t's been 19 long years since Honda last
won the 450MX title, but the red ma-
chine broke its championship dry spell
at Unadilla in style—by winning every sin-
gle moto (so far) with the help of 20-year-
old rookie sensation Jett Lawrence.
Lawrence has yet to not win a 450MX
moto since first swinging a leg over a big
bike last year at the MX of Nations. He
started the 2023 Pro Motocross Champi
-
onship as a 450MX-class rookie and has
given Honda its first 450MX number-one
plate since Ricky Carmichael in 2004.
Lawrence joins a long list of former
premier-class Honda MX champions,
including Donnie Hansen, David Bailey,
Rick Johnson, Jeff Stanton, Jean-Michel
Bayle and Jeremy McGrath.
