Y
amaha's YZ250F is
significantly updated for
2024. Most attention was
focused on the YZ's chassis and
suspension. The bike features
a completely redesigned alu
-
minum bilateral beam frame
based on the recently updated
YZ450F, providing what
Yamaha says is "just the
right amount of strength
and flex for the perfect
balance of stability and
cornering performance for
a better-handling machine
with a lightweight feel
and increased front-wheel
traction."
Yamaha also says the
new YZ250F chassis is
lighter and more compact.
The YZ's suspension has
been re-tuned to match the new
frame. The fork now includes a
hand-adjustable knob for quick,

ments. According to Yamaha,
the updated chassis and sus-
pension provides less pitch on
corner entry/exit for improved
stability.
The new YZ250F has a slim-
mer, flatter body design for
"enhanced rider movement,"
including a lower airbox, flat
-
ter seat, and more narrow fuel
tank and radiator shrouds. The
rider triangle has been altered to
increase legroom between the
seat and footpegs "for improved
rider comfort."
Engine changes are few,
but Yamaha says the updated
body design allows for a more
efficient intake path and to
-
gether with revised ECU settings
results in "even more mid- to
high-end power."
Additional features include an
all-new Traction Control System.
Three levels can be selected:
high, low or off. Also, an updat
-
ed Launch Control System now
features an rpm limiter which
can be adjusted in 500 rpm
increments between 6000 rpm
and 14,000 rpm. Both systems
are controlled through the Ya
-
maha Power Tuner App, which
has also been updated.
The 2024 YZ250F (as well as
all the 2024 full-size YZ MXers)
is available in 50th Anniversary
Edition trim for $9099, as well
as traditional Yamaha Racing
blue for $8899. They will be
available in October.
