Triumph MX Bike Teaser
W
e know Triumph will have
a motocross team and a
team manager, but we haven't
seen a motorcycle yet. Until now,
sort of.
Triumph released its first
video teaser on its secret mo

tocross bike, focusing on only
the bike's frame, which will be
constructed from aluminum. The
video shows us quick snippets
of the frame and Triumph's Ricky
Carmichael, Bobby Hewitt, Dave
Arnold, Ivan Tedesco and Ste
-
phen "Scuba" Westfall discuss
the company's thinking behind
going with aluminum rather than
steel. It also explains why the
complete motorcycle reveal has
taken a rather long time. The
bottom line, they said they want
to do it right the first time, so
they aren't rushing into things.
They say the soon-to-be Triumph
motocrosser is being developed
from the ground up and they
aren't taking any shortcuts,
meaning they aren't copying any
other manufacturers' designs
but instead starting from a clean
sheet of paper.
"From a race standpoint, it's
special," said Ricky Carmichael.
"We have taken a lot of heat be
-
cause it has taken some time but
our benchmark was really high.
And we knew that we couldn't
unveil something sub-par."
Expect to see a second video
focusing on the engine mid-
August.
