Honda's Jared Lowe, 1st Impres-
sions Husqvarna's Chad Cose,
and
Turner Honda's Chase Saa-
thoff one by one before locking
onto
race leader Trevor Brunner.
Drane eliminated team-
mate Brunner's one-second
advantage,
executed a slightly
more aggressive slide-job than
intended, and then raced off to
the checkered flag.
Brunner came home in sec-
ond, while Kopp's teammate,
Max
Whale, charged forward to
swipe third away from Saathoff
on the race's last lap.
Saathoff's teammate, Trent
Lowe, fought up from outside
the top 10 to finish fifth, one
spot ahead of Kopp. Despite fin-
ishing outside the top five, Kopp
still boasts
a mammoth 45-point
title advantage over second-
ranked Saathoff (255-210).
Meanwhile, the win was the
third in just 14 attempts for
Drane, who has quietly strung
together some win/podium/
placement statistics that out-
shine even the likes of prodigies
Daniels and Kopp
when they
were at the same early stage in
their respective careers.
