Kenny Roberts (4) beat Freddie
Spencer (3) by 1.23 seconds to win
the San Marino Grand Prix in Imola,
Italy in 1983. But while Roberts won
the battle, Spencer won the war and
his second-place finish earned him
the 1983 500cc World Championship
by two points. Those two riders won
every single race that season and
came out tied on wins with six apiece.
