It was all action, however, in
race one. O'Hara and Wyman
were out in front with Gillim des-
perately clinging to the back of
them
by the last of the eight laps.
Coming into the Corkscrew
on the final lap, O'Hara made a
stunning pass on Wyman and
kept it—just—on the straight and
narrow. Until he didn't.
Coming into the final corner,
the number one Indian looking
more like a speedway bike than
a 600-plus pound bagger, O'Hara
lost the front and crashed out.
He was then swiftly followed by
Wyman, who crashed right behind
him in exactly the same fashion.
O'Hara remounted for fourth
while Wyman came home in
eighth. It was thus a popular win
for Gillim, who headed home
ers and Rodio both repeatedly
broke the old lap record, the new
benchmark being set by Rodio's
1:29.269.
Landers had earlier won race
one by 4.1 seconds from Rodio
and Doyle.
In the series points, Rodio's
back in charge on 159 to Davis'
156 and Landers is far from out of
it, 18 points back in third in 141.
King of The Baggers
As is proving customary in 2023,
Kyle Wyman cleared off for the
five grand prizemoney in the
Challenger three lapper, taking
the win ahead of Vance & Hines/
Mission/Harley-Davidson's
Hayden Gillim. Class champion
Tyler O'Hara was third on the
factory Indian.
