"After that first moto I was
pretty disappointed," said
Kitchen, who was sporting a red,
white and blue hairdo. "I didn't
do my hair for nothing! I got a
good start and was able to grab
the win in that second one. I just
wanted to do something differ-
ent and bring some personality
back to
the sport."

spot on the podium to make it
an all Monster Energy Star Rac-

Deegan's
teammate Levi
Kitchen ripped the holeshot
in moto two and never looked
back. The Washington native led
all 16 laps and held on to take
his first race win of the year.
Even with a seventh in the open-
ing moto, Kitchen still grabbed
the second
spot on the overall
podium. A moto win and second
overall are his best results of the
year and now place Kitchen fifth
for nearly the entire race but
would end up third. However,
a 2-3 for the day gave him the
overall victory, his first.
"I picked a good gate and got
a second place start in the first
one and finished second," said
Deegan. "That's a good finish,
so I was hyped about that. In
the second moto, I pulled the
holeshot, and Levi [Kitchen] and
I were P1 and P2 for most of the
race. Then in those last couple
of laps, [Tom] Vialle got me,
and I ended the day with a 2-3
for the overall win. Consistency
was key in this race and it paid
off. So yeah, first overall win at
