for third overall. He's still 10th
in points with just two rounds
under his belt.
"Obviously it's not the result
I wanted today," said Sexton.
"I didn't get great starts and
ended up falling in that second
moto which was on me. I knew
coming into today that I'd have
to build back to what I was in
Supercross. That's the reason I
came back and I'm hoping we
can get there by the end of the
year."
RedBull KTM's Aaron Pless-
inger strung together a consis-
tent pair of fourths for fourth
overall. Jason Anderson also
returned to action and was the
highest finishing Kawasaki in
fifth.
250MX
The sheer dominance isn't as
obvious in the 250MX class
even though Hunter Lawrence
has won every overall this sum-
mer. He finally managed to grab
a first first-moto win, as he threw
down a wire-to-wire victory in
the opening moto. But disaster
struck in race two. The points
leader crashed hard in the first
turn and was assisted off the
track in obvious discomfort and
did not finish the race. Lawrence

HYMAS OUT,
HAMMAKER IN
Honda's Chance Hymas revealed
before the race that he plans to
sit out the rest of the year with a
knee (ACL) injury. Hymas suf-
fered the injury while training dur-
ing the week (June 20) in Florida.
"It's obviously a disappointment,"
Hymas said. "I feel like I had
found my speed and was mak-
ing good progress on improving
my consistency, so I was really
excited to head to RedBud for the
next round. This injury is unfor-
tunate, and I actually feel like I
could race if I had to. At the same
time, it's better for my health to
get it taken care of now, and I'm
thankful that my team supports
that." Another 250MX rider, how-
ever, Monster Energy/Pro Circuit
Kawasaki's Seth Hammaker,
returned to action and went 5-10
for eighth overall.
WEBB OUT
While Chase Sexton and Jason
Anderson got back on the line,
Red Bull KTM's Cooper Webb
did not suit up for RedBud. He
suffered a mid-week crash that
left him "banged up" and unable
to race.
MOTO COMBINE
Another round of the Moto Com-
bine took place on the Friday
before the National. Husqvarna's
Casey Cochran, who also won a
Supercross Futures race earlier
this year, took a dominant 1-1
victory. Canada's Ryder McNabb
used a second and a third to
take second overall with Preston
Boespflug going 5-4 for third.
