appears to be okay after see-

come to an end when he was
caught up in a first-turn pileup in
the second moto at the RedBud

the second moto and walked off
the track with assistance. He did
not return.

revealed that Lawrence is okay
and is expected to suit up for
this weekend's race at South

wick.
"It's unfortunate, but it is what
it is—part of the sport," Lawrence
said. "I'm thankful it's nothing
major [his injury]; we'll buff her
out, and should be good to go."
Despite the second-moto
DNF, Lawrence is still leading
the 250MX Championship by
11 points, 200-289, over Haiden

Yamaha To Phase
Out Snowmobiles
Y
amaha Motor Co., Ltd., says it's getting out
of the snowmobile business. The company
plans to end sales of snowmobiles in Japan
through the 2022 model year, in Europe through
the 2024 model year, and in North America
through the 2025 model year.
In 1968, Yamaha released its first snowmo
-
bile, the SL350. Over the past 55 years, Yamaha
developed snowmobiles for sports, leisure and
business use as a means of transportation
mainly in snowy areas found in North America
and Europe. Yamaha aimed to grow the busi
-
ness through the early introduction of environ-
mentally friendly four-stroke models and alli-
ances with other companies. However, Yamaha
has concluded it will be difficult to continue a
sustainable business in the snowmobile market.
Going forward, Yamaha says it will concentrate
management resources on current business
activities and new growth markets.
Yamaha says it will ensure parts availability,
service and related customer satisfaction now and
after the snowmobile final production run occurs.
Production of the recently introduced 2024 mod
-
els is underway and scheduled for fall delivery.
