In Moto2 it was finally, at
long last, a victory for Jake Dix-
on (Inde GasGas Aspar Team),
the Briton putting to bed the
ghosts of too many podiums
with no wins as he bested Ai
Ogura (Idemitsu Honda Team
Asia) and Pedro Acosta (Red
Bull KTM Ajo).
Moto3 was another typical
brawl with Jaume Masia (Leop
-
ard Honda) getting the nod by
0.081 seconds from Ayumu
Sasaki (Liqui Moly Husqvarna
Intact GP) and Red Bull KTM
Ajo's Deniz Oncu.
MotoGP
Sprint Race
Polesitter Bagnaia sprinted
into the lead from Binder and
Bezzecchi, but once Bez was
through on Binder, he was im
-
mediately on Bagnaia. By lap
four, the lead was his, unfor-
tunately for everyone else; all
they saw of him until the flag
was the tail-end of his black
and yellow Ducati.
Bagnaia likewise had edged
clear of Binder and had a one-
second gap over the South Af-
rican with five laps remaining.
Binder, meanwhile, was be-
ing hounded by a revitalized
Fabio Quartararo (Monster
Energy Yamaha), the former
champion glued to the back of
the KTM.
Binder was home and hosed
for another Sprint race podium,
or so he thought. He ran wide
at turn nine, nicked the green
paint and that was his podium
chance done and done, as zero
tolerance is given to riders who
stray wide on the final lap.

20 FABIO QUARTARARO
3/DNF MOTOGP
"I crashed and I twisted my elbow,
so I have to keep it in a sling for the
time being," Quartararo said. "These
things happen. The elbow won't take
so long to heal. The foot will have to
be checked further. Normally I would
have to have surgery on the toe. I will
be in a little bit of pain for a few weeks.
But if you take out of consideration
what I have going on now on the left
side of my body, it was a positive
weekend: great qualifying, great sprint
race, great speed. I take this as a posi-
tive weekend. Even though I'm injured,
I have ridden at my best level."

27 IKER LECUONA
20/DNF MOTOGP
"From Jerez to here was a big im-
provement in how I felt with the bike,"
Lecuona said. "Overall we have had
a great weekend, constantly getting
faster and improving each time we left
the garage. The race we were having
today was really good, I was careful at
the start and avoided any problems.
After this I was able to settle into my
own pace and I was able to put my
best on track, my confidence was
growing with each lap and I was feeling
really good. Finally, I was fighting for
the top ten and it felt great to be there."

Bezzecchi walked
away from the
pack in the Sprint
race on Saturday.

Binder would
have had two
podiums in the
bag had he not
run wide on the
last lap, twice.
