Rick Ware Racing Welcomes Mobil 1 As Title Sponsor R ick Ware Racing (RWR) is sporting a new title spon- sor for the 2023 World Supercross (WSX) Cham- pionship as Mobil 1 officially joins their team. "We welcome Mobil 1 to the RWR family," said race team manager, Dave Antolak. RWR is known for their pres - ence in the entire motorsports community (Indycar, Flat Track and NASCAR to name a few), and often integrate "outside" sponsors into their range of industries. The team is highlighted by defending SX2 champion, Shane McElrath, alongside SX2 competitor Henry Miller. Colt Nichols and Joey Savatgy are the team's premier WSX (450 class) riders. McElrath and Miller look to be racing Yamaha YZ250F's while Nichols and Savatgy have been seen preparing on Kawasaki KX450's. WSX Announces Abu Dhabi Race For 2023 Series T he 2023 World Supercross Championship (WSX) kicks off this weekend, and the up- coming series also announced a scheduling update. A new venue has been added to replace the French GP as Abu Dhabi has been added to the calendar for the penultimate race on Novem- ber 4-5. Slated to take place on Yas Island at the Etihad Arena, this marks the first time a super- cross race has made its way to this region. "We're extremely proud to announce the WSX Abu Dhabi GP. Yas Island is known for the standard of excellence in host- ing some of the biggest events in the region including other ma- jor events like Formula 1, UFC and NBA," said SX Global's CEO, Adam Bailey. "This event will mark the first-ever supercross event held in the region and is a significant milestone for both WSX and the sport of supercross. The fact that Abu Dhabi is the home of our strategic investment partner in Mubadala Capital, makes it even more special." The first round of the WSX Championship takes place this weekend July 1 with the British GP in Birmingham, England. CN Abu Dhabi has been added to the WSX calendar, marking the first time supercross racing will visit the country.
