T he Kawasaki ZX- 6R returns with notable updates for 2024. The engine is a recipient of some of those updates. Its 636cc inline four-cylinder DOHC engine features new cam profiles, intake funnels and head-and-collector pipe layout. The new cam profiles are said to "ben- efit low-rpm performance and help to meet stricter emission regulations." There are new inte- grated riding modes. All-inclusive modes that combine KTRC and Power Mode settings allow riders to easily set traction control and power delivery. Rid- ers can choose from three settings (sport, road, rain) or a manual setting (rider). In the manual "rider" mode, each of the systems can be set independently. The new ZX-6R is also fitted with new dual 310mm front disc brakes with dual radial-mounted four-piston monobloc calipers. The ABS system has been updated, as well. The ZX-6R gets new rubber, Pirelli's Diablo Rosso IV tires. In the cockpit, you'll find all-new TFT color instrumentation with selectable background colors (black or white) and three automatic screen brightness levels. The bike is also fitted with new smartphone connectivity. The ZX-6R has some new styling cues inspired by its Ninja ZX-10R brother, which includes a new front cowling, LED headlights and turn sig - nals, windshield and 3D interwoven bodywork. You have four variants from which to choose: the ZX-6R ($11,299), ZX- 6R KRT Edition ($11,299), ZX-6R ABS ($12,299) and ZX-6R ABS KRT Edition ($12,299). Availability: June 2023.
