in Las Vegas… Desert-racing legends Danny Hamel, Steve Hengeveld
and Larry Roeseler ganged up to
win the Baja 500... Team Suzuki's
Rodney Smith railed through a
muddy weekend to overall the
Idaho City ISDE Qualifier.
In a seemingly bizarre move, Suzuki and Kawasaki combined e£orts
to produce their first (and same) 250cc four-stroke production
motocrosser, the RM-Z250 and KX250F. Suzuki developed the
motor, Kawasaki the chassis. Both were featured on the cover two
decades ago, along with an inset of a Yamaha Road Star cruiser...
Ricky Carmichael went 1-1 at Southwick; Craig Anderson topped the
125s... Stefan Everts won his second MXGP in a row in Bulgaria...
Mat Mladin and Eric Bostrom splits wins at Road America... It
was an all-Italian podium in Mugello MotoGP, with Valentino Rossi
(first), Loris Capirossi (second) and Max Biaggi (third).
