British rider finished with a time of
three hours and 13 minutes.
Austrian Michael Walkner
(GasGas) finished seventh,
Alfredo Gomez (Rieju), Bulgaria's
Teodor Kabakchiev (KTM) and
American Cody Webb (Sherco)
rounded out the top 10. Webb
was the only American rider to
finish the full course in the time
limit. Just 17 of the five hundred
riders that started the Sunday
main race finished within the
four-hour time limit.
The race kicked off with the
traditional Iron Road Prologue
on Friday and Saturday with over
1000 riders aiming to qualify in
the top 500 to get into Sunday's
final. The relatively smooth and
high-speed course is not usually
a good indication of who will win
the Erzbergrodeo, but a top-50
time earns an important front-
row start in Sunday's main race.
Italy's Andrea Verona (GasGas)
set the fastest time of 10 minutes
and six seconds in the prologue.
Australian Will Riordan, the RPM
KTM rider who lives in the U.S.
and competes in the U.S. Hard
Enduro Championship, finished
second, 14 seconds back. Sonny
Goggia rounded out the top three,
another two seconds back.
Young finished fourth, Bolt
fifth, Walkner sixth, Lettenbichler
seventh, Walker eighth, Dominik
Olszowy (GasGas) ninth and
Kabakchiev 10th.
Top American hard enduro
rider Ryder LeBlond just missed
the front row with a 51st-place
finish.
