waiting towards the end to
make a charge but he [Deegan]
stayed strong the whole race. I
was banking on him slipping up
or fading but he stayed strong
and that's impressive. I got
close with two to go but made a
mistake and that was it."
In just his second profession

al round (fourth if you count last
year's
feet-wetting experience)
250MX rookie Deegan grabbed
the holeshot in the first moto of
track as he logged two second-
place finishes. Cooper, who's
known for being a fast qualifier,
set the best time early in the
day and ran up front during both
motos. He stayed close with
teammate Deegan in race one
and actually led the first few
laps of race two before hand

ing the lead over to Lawrence.
Regardless of
pace, Cooper's
two seconds are a noted im

provement from his 5-4 results a
week
ago.
"First moto we [Cooper and
the plan as he took over the lead
in the opening stages and never
looked back. 3-1 scores gave
him the overall win, his second
in as many rounds.
"Just focused on myself re
-
ally," said Lawrence about the
second
moto. "Wherever Haiden
[Deegan] got back to or whoever
was behind us, that's really out
of my control. I'll get whatever I
get and the results will be what
they're going to be."
