Kyle Ryde, Jason O'Halloran Share
Donington BSB Wins
K
yle Ride (OMG Yamaha) and
Jason O'Halloran (McAms
Yamaha) shared the victories in
the latest round of the 2023 Brit-
ish Superbike Championship at
Donington Park, May 20-21.
Ryde celebrated his second
victory of the 2023 Bennetts
British Superbike Championship
in the BikeSocial Sprint Race for
the LAMI OMG Racing Yamaha
Team, delivering a masterful
performance to keep title rivals
Tommy Bridewell (BeerMonster
Ducati) and Leon Haslam (ROKiT
BMW Motorrad) behind him.
Ryde hit the front of the pack
after a rapid start from the
Omologato pole position and
he continued to set a pace that
would give him the edge of 1.086
seconds at the checkered flag,
but behind Bridewell and Haslam
were dueling for second place,
which went in Birdwell's favor.
On Sunday, O'Halloran ended
his recent run of torrid fortunes
by claiming his first victory in the
2023 Bennetts British Superbike
Championship to become the
fifth different race winner of the
season, following a sensational
second race at Donington Park.
However, in the third and final
race, Ryde rebounded from a
race-two crash to become the
first rider to claim a double
victory on a weekend, where
seven different riders celebrated
podium success.
Ten points now separate the
leading five riders in the stand
-
ings. Bridewell leads the way
with 119 points, followed by Ir-
win with 116, Josh Brookes with
114, Haslam with 110 and Ryde
with 109.
