to live,' just being so hard on
myself."
The rest of the top 10 was
sprinkled with season-best fin-
ishes as Justin Hill and Shane
McElrath
rounded out the top
five. Dean Wilson, Josh Hill,
Kyle Chisholm, Grant Harlan
and Justin Starling rounded out
the top 10.
250SX WEST
The 250SX West riders re-
turned to action with another ti-
tle on the line before the series
finale
and another East-West
Showdown. Jett Lawrence
needed 10th or better to secure
his second Supercross title.
RJ Hampshire showed
some serious heart as he
earned his first win of the 2023
campaign. The lone Rockstar
Energy Husqvarna Team rider
stalked the early race leader,
Levi Kitchen, before taking a
wild off-track excursion. The
front runners had such a big
gap that Hampshire remounted
and put on a charge to catch
back up to the front. With three
to go, the number-24 executed
a key pass and held on for the
win, his first since St. Louis last
year.
"I told too many people that
I was going to win tonight,"
Hampshire said. "I knew I had
a shot at it [the win] and then I
had that mistake. But I'm pretty
sure I dropped my times even
faster after that. I'm just super
stoked we could knock one off
before the end of the season."
Kitchen completed his
podium trifecta for the year
with a second place in Denver.
