With Tomac's DNF and
expected DNS next week at the
Salt Lake City final, Sexton is
already assured the title. Tech

nically, Sexton leads Tomac by
eight points
and third-place Coo-
per Webb, who is out with an
injury
for the remainder of the
series, by 42 points and fourth-
place Roczen by 43 points. But,
in reality, no one can catch Sex
-
ton. Once it's official that Tomac
does
not qualify for next week's
SLC main event (following the
afternoon qualifiers), Sexton will
have clinched it.
Roczen had the ride of the
night for second place. The
Suzuki rider fell in the first turn
and was last on lap one. After a
few more close calls in the early
stages, Roczen began to click off
laps and work his way through
the field. Later in the main, he
closed in on Cianciarulo and
took over the second spot for his
fourth consecutive podium.
"I took a risk going so far in

side on the gate but all the ruts
[after
the gate] were so horrible,"
Roczen said about his start. "I
ran it in there hard, got closed
off, and unfortunately went
