anilo Petrucci will ride for the Ducati
Lenovo Team at the upcoming French GP.
After withdrawing from the Spanish GP, Enea
Bastianini (Ducati Lenovo Team) has been ruled
out of the May 12-13 French GP as he contin
-
ues to recover from a shoulder injury.
At Le Mans, former factory Ducati MotoGP
star Danilo Petrucci will step in for Bastianini
alongside World Championship leader Fran
-
cesco Bagnaia. The current WorldSBK rider is
a previous winner at the French GP with Duca-
ti back in 2020. Petrucci's last MotoGP ap-
pearance came in 2022 at the Thai GP where
he finished 20th for Team Suzuki Ecstar.

With Injuries

he Monster Energy
Supercross Champion-
ship has been decimated by
injuries to many of its star
racers, some of the latest
victims including Monster
Energy Kawasaki's Jason
Anderson and TLD/Red Bull/
GasGas' Justin Barcia.
Both announced before
the just-completed Denver
Supercross that their Super
-
cross seasons are already
over. Anderson revealed that
he suffered a neck injury in
his crash during a heat race
at the Nashville Supercross.
"A CT scan showed I have
a non-displaced fracture at
C5-C6 in my neck," Anderson
said. "Luckily, where the
fracture is my season is not
over and I can come back to
the races relatively soon!"
Barcia confirmed that he
sustained a broken collar
-
bone, a broken right shoul-
der and two broken ribs
from his crash in the main
event in Nashville and will
be out of action for several
weeks.
And, of course, there is
also Eli Tomac, who suf
-
fered a ruptured Achilles
tendon during the main
event in Denver. His return
to racing is unknown but
won't be anytime soon.
Chase Sexton and Adam
Cianciarulo are the last
surviving factory team riders
as of the conclusion of the
Denver Supercross. Suzuki-
backed Ken Roczen is also
still healthy.
