All was good in Tomac-Land—until the third lap when he shockingly started to slow for seemingly no reason. Then it became clear that he was suffering an injury to his leg and, to the crowd's dismay, 450SX Tomac came into the Denver race holding a seemingly unsur- mountable 18-point lead in the championship over his nearest rival, Sexton.
