R
ound 16 of the Monster Energy AMA Supercross Champion-
ship promised to be the Eli Tomac show, as his hometown
fans lit up Empower Field at Mile High with support for the
Colorado native. But the night would end in disaster for Tomac
and his fans after the defending champion hobbled out of the sta
-
dium and out of the championship with an injury. Chase Sexton
went on to take the Denver win and is now the shoo-in, instead of
Tomac, for the 2023 Supercross title with one round left.
In the 250SX West class, RJ Hampshire came away with the
win, but Jett Lawrence came away with the championship.
