Sexton, who started the main
event in third, hunted down and
passed Tomac near the halfway
point. Sexton went on to take
the checkers a whopping 14.513
seconds ahead of Tomac.
"A lot of things can still hap

pen," Sexton said. "He [Tomac]
appears Webb will recover.
"I suffered a concussion," he
said the next day. "I am thank-
ful that everything else has
checked out okay. This will
unfortunately put an end to my
SX season. It hurts to have it
end like this, but I can hold my
head high knowing I gave it my
all. Nobody is at fault. I made a

After watching his main title
rival, Webb, crash out in the
heat race, it looked like smooth
sailing for Tomac. He rocketed

event and led the first half of
the race. The track continued
to dry out and deteriorate in
the 450SX main and Tomac
seemed to back it down as the
race wore on. A scary moment
in the whoops allowed Sexton
to close in and Tomac gave up
the spot without a fight. The

Justin Hill ran third for most of the 450
main event, but he eventually finished
fifth on the night, his best result this
year. "Top five!" he said. "I ran in po-
dium position for quite a while. With a
clean race, I really feel like that spot
[on the podium] is in my near future."
