REV'IT TWINS CUP
The second round of the 2023
Rev'It Twins Cup after Daytona's
round one saw current cham-
pion Blake Davis (N2 Racing/
BobbleHeadMoto Yamaha) take
the opening race win by 0.2
seconds from Gus Rodio (Rodio
Racing – Powered By Robem
Engineering Aprilia) and Hayden
Schultz (Cycle Tech Yamaha).
There was one rider missing
from that trio, former champion
and parttime 2023 rider Rocco
Landers, who was filling in for
0.041 seconds with veteran
Josh Hayes third on the Squid
Hunter Racing Yamaha, 0.315
seconds back.
Race two was more se-
date, as Fores cleared off to a
1.4-second victory over the dual-
ing trio of Stefano Mesa (Tytlers
Cycle Racing Kawasaki), Hayes
and Scott, who finished in that
order separated by 0.3 seconds.
The championship sees Fores
at a perfect 50 points from
Mesa and Scott's 33 and Hayes
fourth at 32.
but it was nuts. I just saw them
(Beaubier and Herrin) kind of hit
and then they parted. The seas
parted and I just shot down the
center of them, and from then
on out, I led into 10A. My bike
was really good driving up over
the hill and [I] just protected the
inside line. That was really fun
racing, close racing. I haven't had
stuff like that in a lot of years."
Fifth went to Escalante, who
closed the gap down from 28
seconds to the winner in race
one to 12 seconds in race two.
PJ Jacobsen, who crashed
out of race one, bought his
Tytlers Cycle Racing BMW
home in sixth ahead of team
-
mate Alexander. Elias, Ashton
Yates (Aftercare Scheibe Racing
BMW) and Gillim rounded out
the top 10.
In the championship, Gagne
and Beaubier are tied at 45
points after sharing the wins
and second places in Road
Atlanta. Herrin is third at 29 with
Scholtz next with 27 and Es
-
calante fifth with 21.
SUPERSPORT
They say nothing beats experi-
ence and that was never more
evident than in the Supersport
category with international rac-
ing veteran (and MotoAmerica
rookie) Xavi Fores (Warhorse
HSBK Racing Ducati NYC) tak-
ing a pair of debut wins.
Spaniard Fores, who endured
a nightmare Daytona 200 with
myriad mechanical issues, quali-
fied fifth behind polesitter Tyler
Scott (Vision Wheel M4 Ecstar
Suzuki), had to fight for it in race
one, besting Scott by a scant
