Busto, Bou Battle It Out In Portugal I t was another battle of the Spaniards in the 2023 FIM Trial- GP Championship with GasGas rider Jaime Busto and Repsol Honda's Toni Bou (Montesa) trading wins over the April 22-23 weekend in Gouveia, Portugal. Rain on Friday made for wet and tricky riding conditions Sat - urday, when Bou used his many years of experience to good use, winning the day by seven marks over Busto, 26-39. "I started with a very good first lap," said Bou. "The river sections were very slippery and on the second lap I didn't start with a great feeling, but I'm super-happy with this victory." Bou's teammate Gabriel Mar - celli (44) was third on the day ahead of TRRS rider Adam Raga (59) and Vertigo's Matteo Grat- tarola (66). In much drier conditions on Sunday, Bou again got off to a good start but, again, Busto came on strong the second lap. This time, however, he was able to overtake the defending champ, Bou, to claim the day's win by a single mark, 13-14. "I'm very happy with the win," said Busto. "I made a big mis - take in section seven on the first lap, but I recovered on lap two." Marcelli (24) was again third on the day, followed by Raga (30) and Grattarola (45). Bou and Busto are tied at the top of the championship leader - board with 74 points. Marcelli is third with 58 points, four ahead of Raga. CN WIND IN THE P56 Jaime Busto finished out the weekend in Portugal with Sunday's win. He is tied with Saturday's winner Toni Bou at the top of the FIM TrialGP Championship leaderboard.
